Suddenly, I have a rush feeling inside my blood....
many would have say," you perform so many times liao, still will get nervous meh? "
My answer," OF COZ!!!I might not show on the face and I 'm not tremble on stage anymore... but for now,its a matter of how well i control myself on stage and to move on to a more professional on stage performances"

The rest of the Forestants too wans to take on another level of showmanship .... take Adwin for example he really did improve till he no longer move tat stiff hahah Bal who can now took control with his own style of body motion that always look ssooo cool hahah Sky is starting to sing and add more harmony to the vocal section. And our newest member Ren Hui, she has the most patience and nice gals to accept and respect every of our decision thuo, Shit SHE HAs Perfect pitch which all of the rest of us DUN but she still humble :)

Today gig 7.30pm @ Far East Plaza is a like a warm up gig for 17 jan and Feb Esplandne show...

Experiencing the panic situation .....

Hello everyone ~

this is Ernest speaking, My first post on Blackforest Blog, finally know how to get this thing workin..hee

Firstly wans to say a BIG BIG BIG thank you to all friends and supporter who supported us thru highs and lows times....

Our most recent gig have been a major disappointment for both us and our supporters...Due to unforeseen situation . Our Jurong CC (the Frontier) performance have cut from 1 hr to 20 min. And best lo... I was talkin and preparin on stage for the next song when then mc went on stage and told me the next song will be our last song... everyone was stunn...

my mind run into a millions of confusion...ONE last song!?? Our dear Diana and Ren hui haven even sing!! and friends of Diana have come all the way to support her ! Same goes to Ren Hui who has her parents all there and friends there too WAUuuu at that moment my mind went blank for a few sec...while i keep fighting with the mc... (actually its not the mc fault i heard its the dunno wat chairman or woman...)... PANIC....
Anyway when i regain my mind...its was during Diana song..haha (really sorry to Diana for makin your song very messy due to my inconcentration) but right after that i shout to the crowd DO they wans to hear ren hui sing!! the Reaction is the tickets to her Show!!! hahah
Anyway she does it well!!!

I went off the stage with a million flame of fire burning in my chest !! SOOOOO Angry and disappointed.... consider..Diana, Ren Hui and the rest of the band all work so hard for this show...

Still this experience is valuable...this kind of thing could happen anytime...
Just hope we growth to another level of professionalism heee at least to me I have hahah

ANYWAY This comin 5th Jan is our show for National Art Council event CLAPS this comfirm is better and smoother! The Venue will be FAR EAST PLAZA the time is yet to comfirm hee..

Hello PPL! So Sorry haven't been updating.. been busy lately but here it is!

The aftermath of National Stadium gig!

We must admit it didnt turn out exactly as what we had hoped for but it was still such a great experience overall! Palmy and her band were fabulous... So great yet humble musicians..

We would like to thank everyone who came down! Jalyn, Ren hui, Joan, Irfan, Shuli!,Evelyn, Clorine and Cherie, our photographer Ricky for the fantastic photos, and everyone else who was there!

WOOooooo.... Our Chinatown gig is over! It was damn fun.. We played 5 songs.. The most amazing thing was that we were able to hype up a large crowd of
"dynasty warriors" (our beloved senior citizen aundience)!

They were actually "HOI-ing" to Re Qing De Sha Mo....

There was also a National Arts Council Events Manager who approached us after the performance.. It appears we came off as a very energetic band who had very good rapport with the audience.. It was pretty comforting to hear that we could interact that well with the crowd. And we might just be collaborating with her in the future.. So we're looking forward to that!

Anyways we would like to thank everyone who came, Evelyn, Shuli, Jalyn, Jocelyn,Cynthia, Adwin's family, not forgetting Jessie! Thanks to all the crowd for their cheers and claps too!

NTU Hall 6 Gig

Wooots everyone.. It's been a long time since this blog's been updated.. Anyways we just had a gig at NTU Hall 6 Residence.. We were guest performers for the Singers In X-tion Competition.. And Ernest was a guest judge..

Our new song "Yi Qi LaLaLa"(Num Lai) was pretty cool, although could have worked on the lyrics better.. Overall the performance was great... And we recieved our 2nd plaque! Quite cool..
Hall Six was pretty family-like and the atmosphere was great.. Special thanks to Alvin who actually got us the gig.. He's a great compere, able to really make the audience laugh....
And also me, Adwin and Ernest went crazy over this overly "hot babe" who was a helper.. oh wells... HAHAHAHA..

Anyways Updates on upcoming gigs! Next Saturday 28th Oct we have a gig at Chinatown area.. Performance is at night probably around 7 plus.. More details to come..
Also another gig at Park Hotel on 5th November, this should be a closed door gig which means you guys might not be able to support us... More details soon also..

Update! on Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrations at Phor Kak See Monastery

Hey all.. It's been a long time since we had a new post... but we just had an event and it was to celebrate the Mid-Autumn celebrations at Phor Kak See Monastery..

Prior to this event, BlackForest was enrolled into a Young Artist Club(YAC) in this temple and we have been learning vocals, dancing and theatre drama in this course.. We were all invited to perform at yesterday's event and Ernest sang 2 songs while me and Bal were in the hip hop dance item.... So let's get on with the event

Firstly, XiaoLing(YAC member) sang on stage together with a little girl, then introduced Ernest to play the guitar for SuTeck(YAC member). He then proceeded to sing 2 songs...... First was an oldie "Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin" and the feel was pretty good at the beginning... The only let down was that throughout the night the audio was quite terrible... But he tried this new Thai song that he stayed up till 3am to complete the lyrics in Mandarin.. It was great and full of "feel"..... Althogh things didn't turn out great, he did put in his 100%! 3 Cheers for Ernest! Hip Hip Hooray! X3

Alright now the dance item! We were all pretty hyped up doing back stage warm ups and playing ridiculously funny games to keep our spirits high... It then came to crunch time and we all gave a cheer nefore we went out to the stage... The dance was very very FUN... in fact, we all felt that the 2 1/2 minutes went by so quickly, we were all disappointed that it didn't last longer.. But overall, we all had fun at this event. A little something different from ur normal gig but FUN...

BlackForest would like to thank YAC for making it fun all this while and the friendship that we gained through this experience! Thanks Aster, Candice, Cherie, Clorine, Jason, Joey, Leah,Lilin, Michelle, SuTeck, XiaoLing and of course Wilson(dance instructor) and his CREW!

Although Adwin couldn't make it, we knew he was wishing us good luck and laughing his ASS off at Russell Peters.. Thanks Adwin..

Yes people just when we thought we ran out of gigs, more just came pouring in for us! Wooohooo...

Ok we're gonna perform at the Youthpark this Sunday 13th August @ 7pm. Please come at around 6.50pm so that you guys wont miss anything! This is a breast cancer charity event that we're gonna perform for so its a good cause!

We also have another gig at guess where? RJC! Details are still sketchy but it's gonna be on the 26th of Aug at yep RJC... We'll provide more details in a few days ya.. Most likely this gig will have a couple of bands from SoMA too.. So it'll be fun!

Hey guys real sad to inform you all that Ernest is injured... He fractured his toe will hip-hopping last week and will be inactive for a while..

And since we have a gig at Downtown East this Saturday, we have invited the lead singer of Infinite Sound, his name is Alan to sing in place of Ernest... We really regret that Ernest is not able to join us but im sure we'll put on a good show nonetheless..

Tapestry was good today! Haha.. Had a lot of fun.. although our timeslot was shifted earlier and some of our friends missed to show.. We are all very shagged out from the weekend of pure roadtrippin' around Singapore and having so much fun...

We celebrated by goin to babyface after Swensen's at orchard and dinner at Longhouse.. had a couple of drinks and played some games...

Once again we'd like to thank everyone for coming and supporting us!

Our DXO Charity Album launch is on the 22nd of July @ DXO @ 7.00pm
We also have a gig on the same night at Jurong West Central 1 (beside the openspace of blk 683) @ 8.20pm which starts with our fellow friend-band, Infinite Sound. BlackForest will be on stage at 8.50pm.

Hi guys.. sky's back again. just to update you all that we are going to perform for an event called Tapestry.

An arts event created by youth volunteers (High Five Youths) from the Central Singapore Community Development Council (CSCDC) for youth artists and performers. By allowing them to boast their talents through various forms of expression.
Tapestry aims to nurture a culture of arts in youths, reaching out to the public, and raising awareness on the High Five Youth Program and beneficiaries, which they adopt.
From a humble beginning, Tapestry was formed in 2002 by a group of High Five Youths who were inspired to provide an avenue for youths in Singapore to voice and express their feelings and thoughts through visual and audio performance. Understanding the need for more sponsored public avenues for young people to have a chance at performing, 5 locations along the streets of Orchard Road were demarcated to provide for expression. After 2 days worth of street busking, participants were enthralled and appreciative of this initiative, with feedbacks requesting for more.
With that to we will tap our brains for more ways to turn our halo worthy spot lights onto the arts arena!

Date: 21 July 2006 (Friday) [opening night]

22 & 23 July 2006 (Saturday& Sunday)

Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm (Friday)

12:00pm - 9:00pm (Sat & Sun)

Venue: Orchard Road [Far East Plaza, Heeren, Wheelock Place & Takashimaya]

We will post updates on our performance time slots as soon as we get them!

One Night In Ngee Ann City

However, both the American Heart Association and the European Resuscitation Council recognise the theoretical advantages of adrenaline in higher doses (ie 100 microgram/kg) if the initial lower dose fails. In adults, this represents 5-10 mg every 5 minutes.

I know I'm definitely overdosed with Adrenaline/Adrenalin after the 20mins performance at Ngee Ann City on 06 May 2006. The event was Vesak Day Celebration 2006 held by the Singapore Buddhist Federation ..It started with Bryan Wong and Kym Ng introducing the Band, yes, it's us...Black Forest..and Woonyong interrupted their conversation with a hit on the snare.Bryan turned back, making a remark of him being rude before going back to his conversation with Kym.They carry on talking and soon enough, Woonyong hit the snare again...this time twice..haha..Yes we did it on purpose...It was all planned by Bryan though, as a signal that the band is ready and also for some stage effect..And the crowd really thought that Woonyong is disturbing the hosts..haha...And the SHOW begins!!!!

We played Hong Cai Mei Mei (Red ribbon Sister),Kang Kang's version followed by Are you gonna be my girl by Jet then Franz Ferdinand's Take Me Out. By this time, the Adrenaline level in the crowd is about 75% already..It was when Ernest and Iqbal started to sing One Night In Beijing,Shin's version that the crowd's Adrenaline/Adrenalin level was boost to the max!! After which is an Original Composition by Ernest named My Freedom.This song brought the crowd to another level of Estacy!!!The feeling was Totally Awesome!!! From the stage you could see the crowd cheering and moving to the groove, swinging their light sticks to the drum beats...When the Song ended, all we can hear were the Crowd cheers and applause...... We thanked the crowd and prepared to move our instruments to the back of the stage when Bryan stopped us. He requested that we play One Night in Beijing again.. this time, Bryan sang. Cool..Kym tried to sing the Opera part but it was simply too high for her.. But they showed great showmanship! The crowd cheered as well.... Went back to back stage.. still feeling as high...this was the first time I felt this high.....The feeling was what we Singaporean referred as.."SHIOK".....hahaha....

The above is how I feel about the event . We did 3 sets of performance for that day.. with an impressive and most memorable ending..At least to me...I'm sure the rest of Black Forest will also feel the same way as I do.. I would like to take this opportunity to once again Thank the organiser ,Singapore Buddhist Federation, to give us, Black Forest a chance to participate in such a meaningful event and also for the wonderful experience. Next I would like to thank the Band for giving me a chance to perform with them...We shall work together to greater heights!!haha... And Also.. not forgetting Evelyn and Sheena who came for the whole day to help us take video of our performances...Oh yah.. Last but not least, I would like to Thank the most important people, the catalyst for the Adrenaline rush in the Band, the wonderful Responsive and Sporting Crowd!!! You guys were awesome!!!

Black Forest Band

Black Forest Band is a rock band founded by Ernest (Guitar/Vocal), Iqbal (Bass/Vocal), Adwin (Guitar/Backing Vocal), Sky (Drum), Kenji (Keyboard/Vocal).
In September 2005, Ernest realised that he wanted so bad to create his dream band that he dreamed about it every night. He started preparing for the big search. Its aim was to create a Black Forest Band. He went on his hunt for ideal band members but later realised that they were beside him all this time. He turned to his pals he studied and recorded with at the School of Music and the Arts (SoMA) to join Black Forest.
On the 11th of November 2005, Black Forest was officially formed. With 5 members in the band, they set out to find the sound they wanted to appeal and work their way, discovering fresh tunes and writing originals. They rock to Mandarin and English tunes, performing at gigs that appeal to the Heartlands of Singapore gaining priceless experience through performances. The High Spirited members are glad to be together as a band realising many possible plans for the future. They are passionate and are working hard towards their goals and their dreams - music.
